What makes Apulia so special? A digital story
This year my students (IICSU from Liceo San Benedetto), the Italian colleague Mrs Milena Scagliusi and I have carried out a digital story sponsored by Politecnico in Milan to take part in a national competition called Policultura 2018. The object of our projectwork has been "lame", an Italian word indicating a sort of canyon you might only encounter in Apulia.
Our goals were grasping our students' attention on a new topic since they are not significantly interested in Science and increasing their linguistic competences both in Italian and in English.
An expert, Riccardo Dileva, a geologist has supported us inspiring students in their work and has offered an afternoon hiking tour in "lame".
We have decided to choose an interview with a slideshow taken by students, divided into groups working on audios and videos since it seemed to us easier to prepare.
The only project work weakness has been “time” since we only heard of the project in January whereas its strengths have been students' enthusiasm, the inclusive practices employed and a light improvement in students' linguistic competences. You might watch our project here.
