Exam practice on waste treatment
Let's start writing an essay without having any clues for it.
Let's imagine your essay topics: "Human beings have always had an impact on their own surroundings and garbage is certainly one of the main causes of the human-induced environmental deterioration. Reflect upon this issue highlighting possible solutions."
You might need a vocabulary list connected to environment and you might find it here and some information about the topic as in the following example. By following the tips I gave you in the previous post, I might split up the instructions in more points to be inserted into a grid:

Environment has been affected by man in different ways through soil, sea and air exploitation to satisfy several needs without any care for the effects on our ecosystem.
For instance, there are entire areas in less developed countries which are completely submerged by rubbish. Each year we have been producing over 7 billion wastes and only less than 2 billions are adequately treated.
When facing waste treatment there are currently three options available: landfills, incinerators and recycling procedures. Landfills are possibly the oldest way of treating wastes but if the measures adopted to make them less potentially dangerous are not effective, wastes might burn releasing poisoning gases. Incinerators employ a waste treatment technology, which includes the combustion of waste for recovering energy. Recycling, the process for converting used materials into new products, appears to be the most environmentally friendly solution since it reduces the fresh material consumption, energy use, air and water pollution.
Waste treatment seems to be a hot issue to handle but to avoid a complete environmental deterioration, we should adopt the ‘three r’ strategy: reduce, reuse, recycle to make our world a better place to live in.
