In theory, the idea of family occasions sounds wonderful, but  I think there are several points to consider before arranging one.

First of all, not all people enjoy family reunions. There are some people who don’t like anything planned. Also, you need to really think about who you are inviting and whether this person gets on with that person.

On the other hand, family occasions are a wonderful sign of affection. Arranging one shows your family member that you have spent a lot of time and have taken a lot of trouble - just for them. This is particularly true when your are organizing it in a place they really like.

Therefore, I believe that although some people are embarrassed by extra attention, most people are embarrassed by extra attention, most people are thrilled by a family occasion and see it as proof of their family affection.
