Have you ever heard the expression ‘the trip of a life time?’ That’s what I thought I was getting when my family won a road trip across the USA. However, it didn’t quite live up  to my expectations.

Then you can carry on your story like this:

I have never flown before. I was terribly excited to live such an extraordinary experience that I didn’t pay any attention to what the hostess was saying. I was only focused on New York, on faraway natural parks, on Las Vegas.

We had been travelling  for almost two hours when the pilot announced that there were some problems with the engine and invited us to keep calm since he was asking the nearest airport for an emergency landing, probably in Belfast or in Glasgow.

‘Not too bad’ I thought. I had never been either to Belfast or Glasgow. I would have told my mates about that. Everyone would have listen to my flying adventure.

It was only a few days later that I realized that my lifetime trip was turning out into a nightmare. We landed in Belfast at four in the afternoon and stayed there for the next four days.
